Creative Connections 2013:
"Cultural Connections"

June 17-28, 2013

This summer, we'll "travel" the world exploring the many cultures that color our lives. So, pack your bags and prepare for an amazing adventure!

Customize your child's experience
Participants get week-long programming (Monday - Friday) that can be customized to fit a busy schedule. Choose to attend one week or two, a full-day or a half-day, mornings or afternoons. Students may enroll in up to four different classes in each grade level. Take advantage of the late-day music session and the 45-minute supervised lunch time (bring own bag lunch and beverage). It's all up to you!

• Morning session: 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
  
• Afternoon session: 12:15 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.
  
• Music Sessions - 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Program Fees and Location
$80 for each 5-day morning or afternoon session (includes supplies). Discounts for 3 or more classes. All classes are held at Mount Mary College.

Bonus! Gallery Exhibit
Family and friends are invited to a gallery experience featuring the artwork and music talents developed during Creative Connections, July 12, from 6pm to 8pm, in the Marian Gallery.

ART - Cultural Connections
Grade K - "The Shape of Something New"
Use shapes to explore patterns, textures and color; and use animals as inspiration.

Grades 1-2 - "Tall Tales"
Learn how people from different cultures tell stories, then tell yours.

Grades 3-5 - "Celebrate with Symbols"
Examine patterns and symbols from various cultures, then create art that celebrates you!

Grades 6-8 - "A Closer Look"
Examine who you are by experimenting with tools and media from various cultures.

MUSIC - Muscial Connections
Grades K-8 - "Melodic Journeys"
Explore the sounds from other cultures and create your own! Then bring your sound together at the culminating art show on July 12th. Taught by Tammy Enevold, Wes Schmandt and guests. No prior music instruction required.

Two ways to register.
A registration form and emergency information form must be submitted for each participant.

1. Families with children registered in four or more week-long sessions receive $30 off the total registration fee.

2. By Mail
Complete the registration and emergency form for each participant and submit with payment to address provided on form.
