Justice Faculty earns "40 under 40" Recognition
January 9, 2013 -- The Business Journal announced Rachel Monaco-Wilcox as one of Milwaukee's "40 Under 40" for 2013. Monaco-Wilcox is a faculty member in the Justice Department and is active in the fight against human trafficking and sexual violence. Most recently she has worked to facilitate healing and raise awareness through the three-part series "Untold Stories." The Business Journal received over 270 nominations for this award. Winners, which represent the future of leadership in southeastern Wisconsin, will be honored at a March 4 event. Find out more in the Business Journal.
Mount Mary Student Receives Gilman Scholarship
November– 29, 2012 Bao Yang, a Social Work major who will study abroad at Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea, this spring, has received a Gilman Scholarship for $2,000 to support her studies abroad. The Gilman Scholarship is a highly prestigious, nation-wide competition. Twenty-eight Wisconsin students received a Gilman this year; only two were students of schools in the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Find out more about the award.
Arches Newspaper Receives Award
November 2012 – Arches, the student newspaper of Mount Mary College, finished 3rd place in the Best of Show category for four-year non-weekly newspapers at the Associate Collegiate Press national conference in Chicago this past weekend! Arches competed against hundreds of student publications from colleges and universities of all sizes from across the nation.

"Excellence in Teaching" Award
November 1, 2012 – Mount Mary College announced its 2012 "Excellence in Teaching" award recipients. Jennifer Hockenbery, Ph.D, professor of Philosophy, received the full-time teaching award, and Helga Kisler, instructor in Theology, received the part-time award. To earn the award, faculty must demonstrate innovative teaching techniques, current knowledge of developments, trends and research in her academic field, as well as dedication, enthusiasm and support of students' personal, moral and intellectual growth. Mount Mary College Alumnae Recognized for Outstanding Achievements
October 18, 2012 – The Mount Mary College Alumnae Association has named its 2012 Madonna Medal and Tower Award recipients. The Madonna Medal Award is bestowed annually to alumnae who excel in professional achievement, service to the community or service to the College. The Tower Award for Excellence recognizes alumnae who have graduated within the past 15 years and exemplify the College's core values.
This year's recipients, Ann Angel, Mary Sladky Gramins, Maria Kirschling Guilbert, Marie O'Brien, and Tina Raasch-Prost, were recognized at the College's 2012 Alumnae Reunion Awards Reception and Dinner, held Saturday, October, 13, 2012 on the College campus. Get the details in the release.
Ristow named AD3I Player of the Week
October 2012 -- Sophomore forward Emily Ristow (Sheboygan, Wis.) was honored as the Association of Division III Independents women's soccer Player of the Week for the week of October 15-21 after scoring seven goals on a recent road trip to central Illinois. Ristow scored four against Lincoln Christian University in a 6-2 win, and three more in a 7-0 shutout at Robert Morris University-Peoria. The prolific weekend propelled Ristow into school history as Mount Mary's leading scorer, already with 30 goals through the team's 13 games played. Read more about Emily's performance.
Perera honored by AD3I as first ever MMC Player of the Week
September 12, 2012 -- The Association of Division III Independents released its first weekly honors for the week of September 2-9, and named Mount Mary College junior forward Rasika Perera (Oak Creek, Wis.) its women's soccer Player of the Week. Read more.
