Summer Leadership Institute
June 10-13, 2014
This year, 21 students from seven different colleges and universities around the state were in attendance. Students participated in interactive leadership and skill building workshops throughout the 3 1/2 days, including personal visioning, learning the creative competencies, diversity, confidence, reflection, networking and more. At the graduation ceremony, all students received certificates for completing the program.

SYNERGY: Women, Creativity and Peacebuilding

Cynthia Cohen, PhD, director of the program in peacebuilding and the arts at Brandeis University, and Jennifer Freeman, MA, director of the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice, Women Peacemakers Program at the University of San Diego, explored the contributions that creative arts and scholarship can make to the work of professionals in restorative justice, conflict intervention and trauma healing.

Area students in grades 6-12 explored their future creative career and leadership opportunities through hands-on projects involving art, writing, science and math. This engaging program was presented in partnership with the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast.

Art of the Creative Leader, “Dancing with Complexity”

Through this workshop, participants were exposed to the concept of leader flexibility through an artistic, expressive learning experience. Participants explored their potential to work with change, connect with others, while learning how to better navigate complexity in the workplace. This workshop is co-taught by artists from Danceworks, Joelle Worm and Dani Kuepper and June Kriviskey, Vernal Management Consultants.

Summer Leadership Institute
In June 2013, 20 women from different colleges and universities came together for the Summer Leadership Institute. The spent three days participating in a variety of workshops on topics ranging from negotiating and public speaking to diversity and personal branding to build their skills and develop a personal vision statement to guide them along their paths to becoming great leaders.
