Pastoral Counseling Concentration

The pastoral counseling concentration prepares students to utilize insights and principles derived from the disciplines of theology and counseling in working with individuals, couples, families, groups and social systems toward the achievement of wholeness and health.  Pastoral counseling integrates religious resources with insights from the behavioral sciences.  Students seek to understand the human search for meaning and purpose in all its complexity.  Graduates who are endorsed to ministry by a religious body meet requirements for certification as a pastoral counselor and membership in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.  Also, graduates may be eligible for certification by the National Organization of Catholic Chaplains.

See the current advising guide/curriculum for the pastoral concentration.
