Practicum/Internship
Sites
Mount Mary College located on the northeast corner of Milwaukee
is close to many neighboring communities and downtown making internship
requirements relatively easy for students.
Students enrolled in the Mount Mary Graduate Program in Counseling
must complete a minimum of 600 hours of supervised field experience
during their curriculum (i.e. for the community counseling
concentration the requirement is 700 hours, and the requirement
for the school counseling concentration is 600). The graduate program
plays an active role in assisting students in this important process.
In the state
of Wisconsin, entry –level counselors must complete another
3,000 hours of experience (i.e. post-masters, supervised) in order
to be license eligible. Students secure these sites independently,
once they have completed their degree.
