Licensure
Obtaining Certified Dietitian Status
in Wisconsin: Most states have licensed
or certified dietitian status, and often this status is transferable between
states. This process is entirely separate from the requirements of the
Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and requirements vary by state.
After passing the registration exam, dietitians who wish to practice dietetics in Wisconsin are encouraged to apply to become a Certified Dietitian, as CD status is required by most employers. Contact the Department of Safety & Professional Services for the proper forms.
Interns who will practice dietetics outside of Wisconsin at the end of the internship should investigate the requirements of the state in which they plan to practice.
