Dietetic Internship - Coursework

Supervised Practice Courses (Fall Semester)

DTS 601, Principles of Dietetic Practice I, 2 credits

  • Orientation to the internship and to the management and community rotations (2 ½ weeks)
  • Conducting community based interventions

DTS 602, Dietetic Practice I: Management and Community, 3 credits

  • Nine weeks at one management site
  • Six weeks at one community site plus additional community experiences
  • Biweekly seminars on campus

 

Supervised Practice Courses (Spring Semester)

DTS 603, Principles of Dietetic Practice II, 2 credits

  • Orientation to medical nutrition therapy rotation (1 week)
  • Conducting community based interventions

DTS 604, Dietetic Practice II: Medical Nutrition Therapy & Elective, 3 credits

  • 15 to 16 weeks of medical nutrition therapy
  • Four to five weeks at an elective site(s)
  • Biweekly seminars on campus
