Mount Mary College presents ...

"Changing the world, one woman at a time."

Members of the Milwaukee community filled the Pfister Hotel ballroom on Friday, September 21 to hear Andrée Simon, President and COO of Women for Women International, an organization committed to helping women survivors of war transform their world. Simon shared stories of small actions by ordinary individuals that have had a positive ripple effect and impacted women's lives across the globe.

Simon also visited with members of the Grace Scholars program and the Leadership for Social Justice class before the Fall Transforum. She spoke to these young women about how small changes can make a huge impact on the lives of women affected by war and violence, how knowing one's rights can build courage to ask for change and how standing as sisters benefits us all. Simon encouraged the class to value education, to learn specific skills and to seek out ways to support one another.

"You got me out of misery. I thought that I was the poorest being on earth. Now I am not the way I used to be, because nowadays at the end of the day, I find myself with something little, but mine."

"This program is wonderful, because it enables us women who are blessed in small ways to share our blessing with those who still need blessings, woman to woman, one woman at a time."
