The Educational Experience at Mount Mary
The Graphic Design Department embodies the College's commitment to
women through excellence in teaching and learning.
Students begin their graphic design schooling within the Arts
and Design Division learning about basic art structure necessary
to be a well established artists in any field. From
courses in history and typography, the graphic student builds
a solid design structure to achieve the advanced understanding needed
in the profession. With this solid foundation Mount Mary students
go on to work with client based projects
in their advanced classes and finally completing a highly advanced
internship.
Mount Mary College prepares students to be leaders in the graphics
field through in-depth research, a variety of coursework, verbal
and written presentations, client-based
projects, and challenging internships.
Through this educational process the students are given a range
of skills to achieve successful
careers in design.
The faculty in the Graphic Design Department are all working professionals in the design industry. This provides them the working knowledge which they in turn share with their students such as current trends and advancements in technology.
The College collaborates with the Business
Marketing Association of Milwaukee to provide a variety of speakers,
field trips, and networking opportunities from both the Metro Milwaukee
Area and all over the country. International
study is encouraged to further engage the graphic student in
understanding the global market.
The Graphic Design program is dedicated to the growth of the individual as a whole - academic, personal and social. Caring, devoted professors assist students to be successful in whatever field of design they choose by providing exceptional opportunities in networking, community involvement, and practical experiences. |
