Internships

As a manner of course, Graphic Design students from first year to junior year participate in a portfolio review.  A panel of three to four industry professionals interview each student and give both oral and written reviews. This educational process helps students develop self confidence and awareness which are essential prior to engaging in an internship.

Your academic advisor and the department faculty will assist you with your internship selection.  You should plan ahead, ideally one year, as the competition for internships in this field is intense. As you prepare for your internship you will be enrolled in the Portfolio and Presentation course. In this class, you will prepare a cover letter, business card, logo and resume. The process of refining your portfolio and securing plans for an internship and future career are the major focus of this course.
