Curriculum That Encourages Creativity

Mount Mary University offers a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Merchandise Management degree, as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate in fashion merchandise management. The fashion merchandise management major is designed for students who love fashion and trends, have strong analytical and math skills, and want to work on the business side of the fashion industry.

Experience Fashion in New York City and Paris

Each year fashion students travel to either New York City or Paris for a behind-the-scenes look at the fashion industry and to explore social justice issues related to fashion and textiles. Destinations alternate each year. These unique study experiences typically occur during winter break.

In New York City visit textile and apparel museums, fabric fairs, forecasting services, design studios, apparel show rooms and influential shopping districts.

In Paris take classes in apparel and accessory design and trend analysis through a partnership between Mount Mary faculty and the Paris American Academy. Also meet European designers, couture drapers, accessory designers, costume historians and trend forecasters, as well as help with a runway fashion show.

Fashion Activities Outside of Class

From student competitions, exhibits and fashion shows to on-campus student, clubs and organizations, you have many options at Mount Mary for getting involved and making friends outside of class.

Scholarships for Fashion Merchandise Management Majors

In addition to academic scholarships, fashion merchandise management majors at Mount Mary may qualify for one of 11 fashion scholarships. To apply for a fashion scholarship, fill out an application for the Layton Art Scholarship.
