“Mount Mary is a place where you can grow as a student and as an individual. You are challenged to expand your potential academically and personally.”

When you enroll at Mount Mary, you will be assigned a pre-nursing adviser. The adviser with help guide you through the prerequisite coursework requirements and the nursing admission process, found in the Undergraduate Bulletin (PDF). During your last semester of pre-nursing coursework, you will apply to complete the nursing program at Columbia College of Nursing (CCON).

Get Clinical Experience

Students admitted to CCON are guaranteed placement in a variety of clinical settings such as community health agencies, clinics, schools, acute-care hospitals, long-term care facilities and others. Your clinical experiences may include rotations in obstetrics, pediatrics, intensive care, emergency, burns, telemetry, orthopedics and public health.

Become a Registered Nurse

Upon successful completion of the nursing program, you will receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from CCON and be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Mount Mary students who complete their nursing degree at CCON are well prepared for the national nursing exam and routinely have an average NCLEX pass rate above 90%—significantly higher than national and Wisconsin averages. Nursing graduates must pass this exam to be licensed and practice as a registered nurse (RN).
