Music
Ensembles
The Music Department offers various music ensembles
that perform for campus and community events. Opportunities to perform
in vocal and instrumental ensembles or as a soloist are open to all Mount
Mary students, faculty, administrators, and staff, as well as to community members for credit or non-credit.
Vocal Ensembles:
Participation in Mount Mary College Chorus (MUS 250) or Gospel Choir (MUS 252) may be counted toward two college credits in partial fulfillment of fine arts core requirements. Register for these vocal ensembles as a course through My Mount Mary.
- Mount Mary College Chorus
This all-women's chorus performs classical, pops, and contemporary choral works throughout the year. No audition or experience is necessary. Rehearsals are held Monday evenings on campus. Contact the Mount Mary College Chorus Director, Andrea Pelloquin, at (414) 258-4810 ext. 389.
- Gospel Choir
This all-female group joins voices in a chorus that exemplifies a truly American tradition. No audition is required and rehearsals are weekly (after 4:30 PM).

Instrumental Ensembles:
- Chamber Orchestra
Part of Mount Mary's time-honored traditions, the Chamber Orchestra performs diverse works that do not require an advanced level of expertise. Participation is open to all students (for credit or audit) and community members with intermediate to advanced skills. Students may register for the ensemble for one credit each semester (may be repeated each semester) or audit the course.
Auditions with at least three positions with good intonation and rhythm are required. New instrumentalists (violin, viola, cello or bass players) are welcomed to audition at any time throughout the academic year. Rehearsals are held one evening per week.
Contact the Chamber Orchestra Director for more information.
- Handbell Choir
With a long history at Mount Mary College, the Handbell Choir performs works from a wide variety of musical styles – classical, pops, folk music, and seasonal arrangements. Open to all students (for credit or audit) and community members. No prior experience needed! Emphasis is on learning handbell technique and playing as an ensemble. Rehearsals held one evening per week. Contact the Handbell Choir Director for more information.
