MS in Occupational Therapy Application Information
*Open to men and women.

The MSOT program track is for graduate students who have earned a bachelor's degree outside of occupational therapy or will be completing a bachelor's degree at another institution. If you have not earned a bachelor's degree and plan to earn one at Mount Mary College, please review the admission information for the Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy.

The Occupational Therapy program reads completed applications twice per calendar year for admission to the program. Application deadlines are January 15 and June 15 each year. Review the Master of Science Occupational Therapy application procedure sheet for additional information.

It is important to apply early to the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program. Applications are considered in two stages.

Stage I: Mandatory Initial Eligibility -
To be considered for initial eligibility, the applicant must:

  • Submit the application for graduate study to Mount Mary College with $45 application fee.
  • Submit all official transcripts from all college institutions attended to the Office for Graduate Education, Mount Mary College, 2900 N. Menomonee River Parkway, Milwaukee, WI 53222-4597. Transfer courses listed on transcripts does not constitute submission of all transcripts from all institutions. Each college attended requires submission of an official transcript from that institution.

Once the application and all official transcripts are received, these materials are reviewed at the beginning of each month, by the Occupational Therapy Admission & Retention Committee to determine initial eligibility for admission to the program. Applicants will be notified in writing, if they are eligible for the program.

Initial eligibility does not admit a person into the Occupational Therapy program - it only determines if the applicant meets the initial academic standards required for admission (see Occupational Therapy admission policy).

Stage II: Submission of Application Materials
If an applicant is found initially eligible, they will be notified to submit the remaining application materials as follows:

All application materials should be submitted to the Office for Graduate Education, Mount Mary College, 2900 N. Menomonee River Parkway, Milwaukee, WI 53222-4597. When the above application materials are received and ALL prerequisite coursework is completed, an application is considered complete and will be reviewed at the next deadline date, either January 15 or June 15.

Prerequisite coursework that must be completed include the following (or equivalent transfer courses):

  • SYM 102: College Composition II
  • BIO 211: Human Anatomy
  • BIO 212: Human Physiology
  • PSY 103: Introductory Psychology
  • PSY 214: Developmental Psychology
  • OCT 101: O.T. Orientation
  • OCT 201: Medical Terminology

Please note: All prerequisite coursework must be complete and a grade received on an official transcript by the time of the application read date. There are no exceptions to this rule. Please review the Occupational Therapy admission policy for details regarding our admission process and policies.

Applicants are notified by mail approximately two weeks after the deadline date regarding an admission decision.

If you have any questions about the application process, please contact the Office for Graduate Admission at (414)256-1252 or at mmc-gradinfo@mtmary.edu. If you have specific questions about the program or advising, contact the Occupational Therapy department at (414) 256-1246 or at mmc-ot@mtmary.edu.
