Mount Mary College Alumnae Association Starving Artists Show®

Sponsored by the Mount Mary College Alumnae Association, the Starving Artists' Show® is an outdoor art show that spreads out on the west lawn of Mount Mary College each year on the Sunday following Labor Day. The show features local and national artists that work in all mediums selling original artwork for $100 or less.

The annual Starving Artists Show® was recently ranked 61 on Art Fair Source Book's list of Top 100 Fine Art Fairs in the United States for 2011. The Source Book publishes reviews and rankings of shows based on the gross sales of the show.

Artist Information

The 2012 Starving Artists' Show® registration information is available below. To be placed on the mailing list to receive applications for 2013 show, please email the Mount Mary College Alumnae Office and provide your name, media, (e.g. drawing, enameling, fibers/leather, glass, photography, pottery, sculpture, jewelry or graphics) phone number, and mailing address.

Timeline -

January - Applications are distributed.
Registration deadline is March 1, 2012.

April - Artists are notified.
Participating artists may download a flier for promotional use.
September (always the Sunday after Labor Day) - Starving Artists' Show
September 9, 2012.

Fees -
Two separate checks, payable to Mount Mary College Alumnae Association, must be included with application.

$20 non-refundable processing fee
$120 registration fee. Artists not accepted for the show will have the $120 check returned.

Volunteer Information

The Starving Artists' Show is only successful because of its over 300 volunteers made up of alumnae, Mount Mary students, and their families.

Proceeds from the show

The Starving Artists' Show® is sponsored by the Mount Mary College Alumnae Association. All proceeds benefit the College. Close to one million dollars in donations have been made to the College from the profits from the Show.
