Summer School

Ahhh – summer in Milwaukee! Time for festivals, ball games, and classes at Mount Mary College.

New students, transfer students, and adult students of all ages find that summer is a perfect time to attend Mount Mary. Taking summer classes is a great way to make progress toward your degree, or to return to college in a welcoming, friendly place.

You’ll enjoy Mount Mary’s relaxed atmosphere; small classes; safe, convenient location; and beautiful, park-like campus.

Tuition and Fees
Tuition and fees vary and are posted each semester with the registration materials.

Financial Aid
In order to receive Financial Aid for the Summer Session you must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate credits or 3 graduate credits.

  • Complete a "Summer Session Request for Financial Aid Form" (located in My Mount Mary under the finance tab) accessible once you have registered for Summer School.
  • Complete the financial aid application (FASFA) and any required documents prior to the start of summer school classes.

Please note:

  • No summer school aid will be awarded after your summer school classes have ended.
  • Funds disbursed for summer may have an impact on your fall/spring aid.

Please contact the Financial Aid Office with questions.

Dropping Course/Grades
Each student is academically and financially responsible for courses in which she or he is enrolled.

Textbooks
Visit the Barnes and Noble Bookstore conveniently located right on Mount Mary College campus for all textbooks and supplies.

High School Students - Qualified high school juniors and seniors may enroll in 100- and 200- level courses for credit with approval of the academic department. Required for admission are

New Students -Those that have not attended Mount Mary College recently and wish to begin a degree or certificate program at the College must do the following:

  1. Contact the Admission Office
    (mmc-admiss@mtmary.edu or 800-321-6265)
  2. Apply to Mount Mary College.
  3. Submit a non-refundable application fee
    • $25.00 - undergraduate
    • $45.00 - graduate

Students registering at Mount Mary wishing to take summer session courses for enrichment or who are degree candidates from other colleges may enroll as Special Students.

Current Students - Current students including those pursuing a post-baccalaureate certificate but not a teacher certificate at Mount Mary College, graduate students and students in the accelerated program** may register for summer classes using the online course search.

**Accelerated Program Students -Term 5 is not a part of the summer session; therefore, many summer session policies stated in this section do not apply to accelerated students or courses. Policies for Term 5 are the same as for other accelerated program terms. Please refer to the Accelerated Program Student Handbook, or contact Professor Beth Vogel, (414) 258-4810 Ext.476, Room 333 Fidelis Hall.

Special Students - Includes those who are not seeking a Mount Mary degree or certificate, but who would like to earn college credits - undergraduate or graduate - over the summer or are degree candidates from other colleges.

Students who have taken a Mount Mary College class before may register online.

Students who have never taken courses at Mount Mary College, must complete the Special Student Application to receive a unique password and identification number before registering online.

Admission to the Summer Session does not constitute admission to a degree program or permission to register for fall or spring classes.

Note to teachers - Because Mount Mary College is approved by the Wisconsin State Department of Public Instruction for Teachers' Certification, all Mount Mary credit courses are approved for WDPI relicensure. We note, however, that it remains the responsibility of the individual teacher to show specific subject-area applicability. For example, art credit may not be accepted for a physical education teacher.
