Childhood through Adolescence Undergraduate Program
for Undergraduate and Transfer
Students
The following areas enable teachers to work with students throughout the age range from birth to age 21 (typically pre-kindergarten through high school). Students interested in teaching in the areas below follow the Early Childhood/Adolescence program of study.

- Art/Adaptive Education in Art
- Spanish Education
- Bilingual Spanish (minor only)
The Mount Mary College curriculum is based on the human search for meaning. For those pursuing a teaching license, the sequence of courses identified for an Early Childhood/Adolescence teaching major allows you to meet the following requirements:
- Mount Mary College Core Courses which introduce students to a broad base of knowledge from the liberal arts, Major Courses, which prepare students in an area of academic concentration, and General Studies, which present the breadth of knowledge and skills for teachers outlined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction
- Professional Education Courses, which prepare students to teach in their certification area and include fieldwork and student teaching
An advisor will help you select an appropriate combination of courses to meet these requirements.
Through this combination of courses in general education, in your chosen discipline and in the professional education sequence of courses, as well as through a variety of field experiences and student teaching you will prepare to assume the roles and responsibilities of a teacher in your content area at either the elementary, middle or high school level.
