Presidential Search 2021-22
To the Mount Mary Community,
With the pending retirement of Mount Mary University President Christine Pharr, Ph.D., the Board of Trustees has begun the process of identifying her successor.
The Search Committee and the search launch has begun; Search Committee members include faculty, staff, board, students, alumnae and SSND representation. View the members of the Search Committee here.

After vetting many search firms, we have engaged the services of WittKieffer, a consulting firm that we believe will work hard to understand the culture and priorities of Mount Mary. They will partner with us to conduct a wide range of listening and information sessions on campus, help surface a diverse and viable pool of candidates, offer logistical and communication support, and assist in the smooth transition of a new president.
Representatives will visit campus on Nov. 2-3 to meet with a number of groups and conduct listening sessions on Mount Mary’s current and future needs. Online, open sessions for faculty, staff, students, alumnae and members of the wider community will be included, in order to get a broad understanding of Mount Mary.
This web page will serve as a portal for the MMU community to offer input; it will be updated to include future listening sessions and online feedback, along with will updates on the search process. We welcome input from the Mount Mary community. Please share your thoughts and recommendations on the Mount Mary Presidential Search by emailing email@example.com.
After conducting early interviews, we hope to bring finalists to campus sometime after the first of the year, and to announce the appointment of a new President in the spring. This will allow for some overlap between Dr. Pharr and her successor. As Dr. Pharr said, she will be retiring on June 30, 2022, and thus our new President will begin formally on July 1, 2022.
