Brita Schumacher

image: Brita SchumacherBrita’s (Spanish, '99) interest in Spanish and other cultures was cultivated by wonderful instructors at Mount Mary University both in her Spanish major and in Intercultural Communications. In addition to a year studying in Mexico,  Brita lived in South Korea teaching kindergarten. She also worked in multiple international sales roles serving both Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2001 her passions for Spanish and business came to fruition as she created Futura Language Professionals, a community-based Spanish school.
Futura’s mission is to bridge global cultural differences through education while revolutionizing Spanish instruction for all ages with its unique methodology, the Building Block Method of Learning. Futura has provided language instruction for thousands of children across Minnesota and Wisconsin as well as three other states where Brita franchised Futura Language Professionals. Brita has also lead several trips to Guatemala. Recently, Futura started a corporate division, which provides Spanish to professionals as well as intercultural communication training for companies doing business in Mexico and Central America.

Brita is a proud alumnae and is happy to report that many of Futura’s teachers have been students of Mount Mary University.
