The role of the Office of University Marketing and Communications is to promote Mount Mary University to various audiences.

Media Relations
We welcome questions regarding media. Please remember to alert us first if you are considering media contact or if a reporter contacts you. Assistance runs from a quick answer to “Would this make a good story?” to extensive media training. Please do not talk to a reporter first, and then call us.

Publications/Design Work
We work with administrative offices and academic units in designing brochures, invitations, etc. But as part of the University’s graphics standards, any printed materials, video, audio or other electronic productions that are sent to external audiences must be reviewed by the Office of University Marketing and Communications prior to production or distribution.

Content and visual design of the external website ( and is overseen by University Marketing and Communications. Please notify us about any changes in your area that require website attention.

Speakers Bureau/Experts Directory
At Mount Mary we nurture a passion for learning, and expertise of our faculty and staff is promoted as a service to the community through our Speakers Bureau. Please let us know if you would like to be added to or dropped from our current list of speakers.

In addition, the local media often seek expert opinion and analysis on a full range of issues that may be making headlines, and this affords the University an opportunity to showcase the knowledge and expertise of our faculty and staff. Accordingly, Mount Mary publishes an experts directory that is distributed to the Milwaukee-area media each year. If you would like to participate, please contact us. Our office will handle any of the necessary arrangements if the media communicates interest in speaking with you as an expert for a story, and media interview training is also available.

Mount Mary Magazine
Please let us know if you have ideas for features or photos for the magazine, which is a general-interest publication for alumni and friends of the University as well as members of the campus community. It is published twice a year. View the most recent edition of the magazine. We welcome your input.

Internal Newsletter
The Office of University Marketing and Communications writes the internal newsletter for faculty, staff, and administration. Please let us know of topics you’d like covered.

Marketing and Communications staff can take photos that may appear in Mount Mary Magazine, the website, or other publications. Before making a request, please consider how the photos will be used. The photos we take must have a clear marketing and communications purpose. If we are not available to photograph your event, we can provide a list of freelance photographers with varying fee schedules.
