Mount Mary classes are always small in size, which makes social distancing easier than at larger universities. Furthermore, we’ve restructured our classrooms so we can safely meet face-to-face.Some classes may meet in larger rooms; and some may use distance delivery in new high-tech classrooms. Plus, if you need to, you can attend your classes virtually.

Everyone on campus must wear a face mask, as part of our policy and the city-wide mandate. Classrooms and public spaces will be thoroughly disinfected by Mount Mary’s cleaning service.

Keeping our community safe and healthy is our main priority. If you ever feel sick, we will make sure you're able to stay on track and complete your coursework. Plus, we have many safeguards in place to minimize your exposure.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Our intention to resume in-person instruction is contingent upon city of Milwaukee public health guidelines and recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control.

COPING STRATEGIES FOR FACE MASKS 
Face masks are a necessity for a healthy campus, and nursing faculty members Jennifer Dahlman, Ph.D., and Kara Groom, Ph.D. will make sure you know how to properly fit and care for your mask, and will provide strategies to keep you comfortable and anxiety-free.

• New Plan, New Body: Exercise is important for stress and anxiety relief at any age. Dietetics faculty members Pat Kempen, MS, RDN, CD, and Shelly Gabel will be joined by alumnae to show you how selecting the right foods and nutrients to complement your routine will help you get to your wellness goals.
• Friends are Food for the Soul: Managing Stress, Fear, and Uncertainty through Personal Connections. Feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or alone? Grab a friend or two and learn from adjunct psychology instructor Kiersten Baughman about how relationships can make you feel better!

YOGA, SELF-MASSAGE AND THE SCIENCE BEHIND PAIN MANAGEMENT
Massage and bodywork are excellent tools for management of pain. Learn the purpose of muscle pain, that is it actually our body talking to us and how to listen to and learn from that message in a way that decreases its power to make us miserable. 

Rita Burlingame-Toppen, OTD, OTR/L, an assistant professor of occupational therapy, will also discuss with admissions counselor Briana Farrell some ways to alleviate the muscle tension that comes from long hours of sitting and studying.
