2024 Spring Commencement Ceremony will Celebrate Milestones

Mount Mary University will hold its spring commencement ceremony at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 in the Bloechl Center. This year the university will recognize several notable achievements, including the first graduating students from the UX Design program and the new School of Nursing.

The speaker will be alumna Veronica Bethel Parker '83, who studied business at Mount Mary and later pursued a Master of Divinity degree from Epic Bible College and an Ordination credential certification by Christian Global Outreach Ministries. Bethel Parker's interests in faith, fashion, business, education and politics contributed to a richly multifaceted career. She and her husband Robert have participated in charitable volunteer projects, traveling to Central America to dig water wells and teach hygiene to women and children living in rural villages.

The event will also award former Froedtert Hospital president Cathy Buck with an honorary doctoral degree. Buck, who served on the Mount Mary Board from 2011–2021, was instrumental in helping develop the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Mount Mary. She will be recognized at the event for her anti-racism advocacy and contributions to the university.
