Milwaukee County displays "Sisters of Freedom"
Exhibit celebrates historic achievements of African American women
Mount Mary University's "Sisters of Freedom" exhibit is on display on the third floor of the Milwaukee County Courthouse now through the end of the month. The exhibit celebrates historic achievements of African American women from the 1800's to the present and includes three Milwaukee women -- Gwen Jackson, Martha Love and Vel Phillips.
Dr. Lynne Woerhle, professor of sociology, and Dr. Shawnee Daniels-Sykes in the theology department, collaborated with the Syracuse Cultural Workers to design the exhibit.
