Teaching Excellence Awardee to speak at Winter Commencement
Kari Inda, professor of occupational therapy, will present the commencement address at the winter commencement on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Inda, who currently serves as chair for the occupational therapy (OT) program, received the 2018-19 Teaching Excellence Award for Mount Mary earlier in the semester.
Inda joined the faculty of Mount Mary in 2001. She earned her Ph.D. in occupational therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2007, specializing in the relationship between clinical reasoning skills and certification exam performance in OT candidates.
The Excellence in Teaching award is presented to those recognized for creative teaching, up-to-date knowledge in their field, and an honest interest in building their students, both morally and intellectually.
Outside of teaching, Kari is also a member of the American and Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Associations, the World Federation of Occupational Therapists and the National Spinal Cord Injury Association of SE Wisconsin.
"It is a great privilege as a professor to watch students develop into exceptional, compassionate professionals who will make extraordinary contributions in their careers," Inda said.
