Hi there! My name is Erin Broderick and I’m a senior at Mount Mary University. Summer and fall are great seasons to explore Milwaukee. Since your start at MMU is just around the corner, I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite things to do near campus.
CHECK OUT THE MENOMONEE RIVER PARKWAY
Part of the Oak Leaf Trail system, located just west of campus, the picturesque Menomonee River Parkway stretches nearly eight miles! Whether you decide to enjoy the parkway by bike or foot, you’ll feel one with nature in no time.
VISIT MAYFAIR MALL
Shopping, dining and entertainment can be found at Mayfair Mall, just steps from campus. Take a study break and enjoy the latest movie releases at the AMC multiplex, or enjoy some retail therapy from over 180 stores! Various dining options include fast casual and full service, with plenty of sweet and snack shops peppered throughout the mall.
EXPLORE THE URBAN ECOLOGY CENTER
Whether you’re an avid explorer or a nature newbie, the Urban Ecology Center has an activity for you! Memberships are offered on a sliding scale and include rentals for activities year-round.
HOP ON A BUBLR BIKE
See the city at your own pace with Bublr Bikes!
Milwaukee’s bike share program allows you to rent a bike at your leisure and drop it off at any Bublr bike stand. Numerous bike lanes and low prices make this a safe and affordable way to explore the Mount Mary neighborhood.
