Peer Mentor Program

pmYoung women who have successfully completed a previous Summer Leadership Academy are eligible to apply to be Peer Mentors. These young women put their leadership skills and experiences as Summer Leadership Academy graduates into practice by being small group leaders, positive role models, and assisting current Academy participants. Peer Mentors have specialized training and participate in small and large group programs and activities. During the small group sessions, they serve as facilitators alongside their Adult Mentor partners, leading discussion and conversation to help participants reflect on what they are learning. There is no cost to be a part of the Peer Mentor Program. The 2023 Summer Leadership Academy will have a total of 16 Peer Mentors. The program will include 8 new Peer Mentors and 8 Senior Peer Mentors. Senior Peer Mentors are young women who have already served as Peer Mentors and will return for another year of service and leadership development. Peer Mentor Program applications will be open from December 15, 2022 to March 1, 2023.
