Assistive Technology

What is it: Assistive technology (AT) is any item, piece of equipment, software program, or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of people who have disabilities.

Who should use it? Anyone! Although this equipment is developed for people who have disabilities, the technology also helps support Universal Design for Learning (UDL). UDL is a framework that can be used to improve and optimize learning for all people, and is based on scientific insights into how humans learn. These are tools that can help make students better learners.
