In an internship, you will gain hands-on experience, helping to build industry-specific skills, explore career paths, build confidence, and grow your professional network.
- Benefits of doing an internship are that you will develop soft skills such as: communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management. Learning technical skills such as how to use certain instruments or software will be extremely valuable for you, too.
- Some majors require an internship, and if that is the case, you will earn credit for working in an internship and may even get paid. Even if it is not required, an internship is an opportunity to connect your learning in the classroom with work experience and is highly encouraged.
- Excellent performance in an internship sometimes leads to a full-time job offer after graduation. It also looks great on a resume!
