Dietetic Internship Supervised Practice
Students are placed at one primary facility for their rotations. Shadow days and short rotations may be scheduled in additional practice settings to obtain exposure to other areas of practice.
Dietetic Interns gain supervised practice experience with simulation activities to better prepare for in-person clinical practice in rotations. DI/MS Program simulation experiences include: interprofessional education events with students in other disciplines such as physician assistants, speech language pathology, and pharmacy. Dietetic Interns will also have the opportunity to work with the Medical College of Wisconsin, participate in an on-campus simulation event using high-fidelity mannequins in the Mount Mary University sim lab, and partner with the Mount Mary University nursing students for interprofessional education simulations in the nursing skills lab.
Supervised Practice rotations are arranged based on student interest, geographic location, and availability. Sites are located a few minutes to an hour’s drive from campus. The following sites are the most common placement sites – but are not all-inclusive.
