If you previously attended undergraduate classes at Mount Mary and have not taken classes for a semester or longer, you are considered a re-entry student. Follow these steps to return to Mount Mary:
- Complete the online Returning Mount Mary Student Application
- Submit official transcriptions from all colleges you have attended since being at Mount Mary.
- Contact the Admission Office with any questions.

Whether you are enrolling in one class or easing your way into a degree, taking courses at Mount Mary as a Special Student could be the next step in your education journey. Special students (or non-degree seeking students) are those who wish to take a course for personal enrichment, professional development, or in preparation for a graduate degree.
How to Enroll
- Submit the Special Student application. Once your application is received, you will be contacted by a Mount Mary admission counselor.
- Make sure your course has been approved by your admission counselor. Note that if your course has prerequisites, you may be asked to provide unofficial transcripts or proof of proficiency.
Your admissions counselor will reach out with next steps and instructions following that process to get you registered for your coursework.
Get a jump-start on your college degree by earning college credit while you're still in high school.
The Early College Credit Program (ECCP) allows 9th through 12th-grade students attending a Wisconsin public or private high school to take college-level courses and earn both college and high school credit. Mount Mary University’s Early College Credit Program is open to both male and female high school students and offers courses held on campus at the university.
To be eligible for the program, students must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.00. Please note that ECCP students are not eligible to take online courses; all courses must be completed in person.
We encourage you to email Ana Sofia Ocampo Hernandez, our Early College Credit Coordinator, at Ocampoa@mtmary.edu for specific information regarding admission criteria, credit limits, and course offerings.The Early College Credit Program is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (WDPI). Steps to Apply:
- Consult Your School – Talk to your high school counselor or district rep to ensure ECCP fits your schedule and credit load.
- Complete WAICU Participation Form – Review Mount Mary’s course catalog and consult the ECCP Coordinator to confirm course availability. The form must be signed by your parent/guardian, counselor, and district rep. (District forms for Fall term forms are due March 1st and Spring term district forms are due October 1st)
- Submit the ECCP Application – Apply online to Mount Mary as a Wisconsin Early College Credit Student.
- Send Your Transcript – Submit high school transcripts and the ECCP application to Mount Mary’s Admission Office no later than April 1st or November 1st for the correlated term.
- Questions? – Contact ECCP Coordinator Ana Sofia Ocampo Hernandez at ocampoa@mtmary.edu. Once your application is complete, she’ll follow up with next steps.
Note: Students must reapply each semester to continue in the program.

How to Apply to Mount Mary
- Apply online using the Undergraduate Post-baccalaureate Certificate/Second Degree Application
- Submit all official college/university transcripts.
- Second Degree Students Only: Submit high school transcripts if you seek review for a possible exemption from the world languages core requirement. (High school transcripts are not required for post-baccalaureate certificate student admission.)
- After you apply, check your application status online.
Difference Between Second Degree & Post-baccalaureate Certificate Programs
A certificate is not a formal degree program such as Bachelor of Arts or Master of Science, but it can be combined with a formal degree to indicate an area of specialization. You must meet the University's admission requirements to enroll in a credit certificate program. Mount Mary certificate programs are open to both women and men.
For post-baccalaureate certificate programs, you do not need to complete the Mount Mary core curriculum. At the end of your studies, you will receive a certificate. See a list of our certificate programs.
For second degree programs, you will:
- earn at least 32 credits at Mount Mary beyond the completion of studies for your first degree
- satisfy all Mount Mary core curriculum requirements
- maintain a C (2.0) GPA or the minimum GPA required by the program, whichever is higher
- fulfill the requirements of the major
